Casolwood Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Canastota, New York.%u200B
Casolwood Golf Course first opened for play in 1972. The course was designed by Rick Quick, Del Wood, and Ben Casolare.
With multiple tee boxes, the course will challenge the low handicap golfer, while providing an enjoyable golf experience for players of all levels.
From the short par 3 holes played over water, to the 595-yard signature hole, Casolwood will challenge you to make a variety of shots. Fairways and greens are well-maintained, and willow trees are abundant. The 14 strategically placed ponds are certain to put your game to the test.
Feeling aggressive? Go for the green in 2 on the par 5 hole #17. But watch out for the pond in front. Hundreds of golfers every year wish they had played a safe shot there. And be careful not to slice on number 10. The pond on #10 is unforgiving.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,214 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,005 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 594 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 115 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 350-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Casolwood Golf Course is # 6, a 325 yard par-4.

Love this course because; 1. it's a good course for a good price and 2. they are ALWAYS open. People I know have played it in January! And this is upstate New York! They are the 1st to open in the spring and the last to close in the fall. Also, they try to be amenable to average golfers. For example, on Father's Day my son and I were playing. We had already sat out a 45 minute rain delay. Now we are at the 18th tee and a thunderstorm was approaching. We would have had time to finish but were held up by a SIXSOME! We just teed off when the sky opened up and washed us out. Two weeks later, we went back and explained what had happened and asked if we could replay the 18th after our round. He was very nice and said no problem and was disturbed to hear that a sixsome was on his course and asked me to please let him know if I saw that situation again. I have had a similar sitation happen before at a different course and the owner was too stingy to let us play the extra hole. I appreciate their attitude at Casolwood.
